3 Day Green Juice Cleanse
A Juice Cleanse is one of the most effective ways to aid weight loss. Boosting your metabolism to burn excess fat whilst also eliminating toxins. Fasting has been part of many cultures for centuries, especially throughout Asia and has now become adopted in western culture as well due to the amazing health benefits. Constantly digesting food can take its toll on the body, so letting it rest now and then can work wonders. This green juice has tons of nutrients and minerals, that it will cleanse and keep you going through the day.
How to prepare for your Juice Cleanse
To get the most out of your cleanse, you should aim to eat clean for 3 days before starting. Avoiding alcohol, caffeine, red meat, soft drinks, sugar and processed food.
Organic food is best if you can, but don’t stress if it’s not possible. Just don’t go crazy on the burgers.
Good foods to include in your preparation
Vegetables and fruit
Whole Grains, Brown Rice, quinoa
Nuts and seeds
Fermented food such as miso, kimchi, sauerkraut
Organic fish or chicken breast
Drink plenty of mineral water to stay hydrated.
WHAT TO DO
Each morning start the day with a glass of warm filtered water with the juice of one lemon. This will drive the liver into action.
Drink a 200ml glass of your green juice every 2 hours throughout the day.
Drink water throughout the day to stay hydrated.
Each night have a hot bath with Epsom Salts and a few drops of Lavender Essential Oil. This will help rid the body of toxins through your sweat glands.
If the hunger pangs get too much, eat a small handful of unsalted, raw nuts such as activated almonds. Or eat a small piece of organic fruit or vegetable, such as an apple, avocado, celery or blueberries. Avoid bananas or high sugar fruits such as mango and pineapple.
Green juice cleanse recipe
- 1 Large cucumber
- Large bunch of Kale
- 2 Stalks of Celery
- Small bunch of Parsley
- 2 Green Apples
- Juice of 1 Lime and 1 lemon
- Large pinch of Cayenne Pepper
- Thumb size Piece of Fresh Ginger
Run the ingredients through a juicer in batches. Stir well and refrigerate.
Each batch should last about one day.
After your cleanse you should ease back into solid foods as it may take the stomach a few days to readjust. Again, avoid processed food and red meat, alcohol and caffeine.
