Fitbit Blaze Smart Fitness Watch Review
What is a Fitbit Blaze?
The Fitbit Blaze is a fitness Smartwatch that monitors your heart rate, calories burnt, stairs climbed, and many other movement based activities.
Using the FitBit app, it logs your fitness performance/workout stats automatically. Making it so easy to keep up to date on how well you are doing with your fitness regime.
Fitbit Blaze Features
Hailed as the best Smartwatch on the market to date, it certainly has some impressive features.
One of my favourite features is that you can set your own fitness goals. I found it very useful to push myself that little bit more each day. Having the stats right in front of you on your app, really does spur you on.
It comes with inbuilt FitStar workouts which I found a superb and easy to use feature. It’s like having a personal trainer on your arm.
You can also use it with apps such as MyFitnessPal and Weight Watchers. Making it useful for tracking your weight goals.
The auto track feature, means you don’t need to manually start it up. Activities such as running, walking etc, are automatically picked up and logged. This includes your heart rate, step count, distance ran, which is great for people who are constantly on the go. I was surprised at how much distance and steps I covered throughout the day, on top of my workouts.
Similar to the Apple Watch, you can sync with your phone to receive notifications, such as calls, texts, appointment reminders. You can also play and skip music tracks on your iPod or iPhone.
Fitbit Blaze Looks and Design
I found the sleek and stylish design made it very versatile to wear. Good for the gym, but also does not look out of place when out for dinner in the evening.
The watch face is fully customizable using the color hi-restouchscreen, which I found to be pretty cool. The screen is clear enough to view on the move, whilst not too big to be uncomfortable.
Whilst standard comes in grey or black, you can customize the strap and frame to different colors. If deluxe purple leather is your desire, go for it!!
The gorilla glass screen ensures that it doesn’t get scratched, so is pretty durable.
Fitbit Blaze Pros and Cons
- Hi-res 1.2 inch screen (customizable)
- Auto-logs activity with the app
- FitStar workouts
- Fast Charging
- Up to 4 or 5 Day Battery
- Stylish design
- All Day Activity tracking
- Smart notifications (texts, accept/ reject calls, calendar alerts
- Water resistant, but not water proof (don’t wear in the shower)
- The band can become uncomfortable if on 24/7, so I took mine off for bed
- That’s it really. Two things I can live with.
Overall I’m really happy with this watch and can’t see myself upgrading for some time. The features are perfect for me to keep track of my fitness levels, and looks really cool.
It should be noted that the Small and Large sizes of the watch actually refer to only the strap size. The watch face itself is just one size of 1.2 inches.
A lot of people (including myself) were confused about this. Hope that helps clear the fog on that issue.
